An apprenticeship is a work based learning programme where you earn money whilst you learn as well as gaining a nationally recognised qualification. By completing an apprenticeship you will be allowing yourself to gain technical knowledge and real practical experience through a mix of learning in the workplace.
The youngest you can be to begin an apprenticeship is 16 years old. However, there is no real upper age limit that you can do an apprenticeship you just have to be willing to work within a role where you require gaining new skills and knowledge.
Depending on the level apprenticeship you are completing, will depend on how long the course is. On average, a level 2 apprenticeship takes around 15 months to complete.
There are many benefits of an apprenticeship such as : Earn while you learn, gain a nationally recognised qualification, you don't need to pay no learning cost, will receive all employee benefits etc.
Off-The-Job training is an education method where the apprentice will learn more about their job that is in their field that is away from the 'usual' workplace. The purpose of this is to achieve the correct knowledge, skills and behaviours. It is outside of their usual day-to-day activities but will be within their normal contracted hours.
